FINCA LA FLORIDA, Ecuador 8oz
COCOA NIBS | POMEGRANATE | RASPBERRY JAM
Region: Imbana, Chinchipe Zamora
Producer: Vitaliano Merino
Altitude: 1700 meters
Ecuador has consistently been one of our favorite origins to source from, but also one of the most difficult. Due to a limited supply and high costs of production, Ecuadorian coffee tends to be some of the most expensive coming out of South America. All that being said, sometimes it’s just worth it —the quality and flavor profiles are unlike anything else growing on the continent. We are happy to be able to offer you this gem from Finca la Florida. Deep berry and pomegranate notes give way to an extremely sweet chocolate aftertaste.
Finca La Florida is a 200 Ha farm owned by Don Vitaliano in Imbana. Currently only 7 Ha of his farm are dedicated to growing coffee, and he has only been harvesting it since 2014. Nevertheless, his coffee has continually improved and impressed. His investment in drying beds and a beneficio (processing plant) have paid dividends, landing this coffee a 1st place finish in the Bracamoros Coffee festival in 2017.
