La Bendición is a light to medium roasted natural processed pacamara. It is a fruit forward cup in which we get lots of stone fruit, think white peach, apricot, or plum. At it’s best we get ripened blackberry - tart, juicy, and sweet. This is definitely a natural processed coffee, so it does bring that funk!
Pacamara is known for its large bean size and its exceptional quality potential. Pacamara originated from a cross between the varietals Pacas and Magarogipe. Grown primarily in El Salvador, where it is frequently dominates Cup of Excellence competitions for high cup quality.
Finca La Bendición is another farm owned by Luis Alberto that has received a lot of attention in the past several years. Divided into 8 parcels each planted with a unique variety, Finca La Bendicion boasts an impressive total 109 manzanas. Finca La Bendición is also located in the Dipilto-Jalapa mountain range in the Northeast of the department of Nueva Segovia and sits at an elevation of approximately 1,300 meters. In total, the farm is 252 acres, with around 105 acres planted in coffee. Finca La Bendición has a loose sandy soil, with abundant humus and has an annual rainfall of between 1,400 and 1,600mm. In addition, the farm has a rich biodiverse environment of fauna and flora, with an abundance of broad-leaved trees and conifer species. All of this together, creates for optimal coffee growing conditions.
Luis Alberto's operation is renowned for processing naturals. His naturals are always really clean and consistent. This is due to a meticulous and elaborate washing and drying system. Luis Alberto received 3rd place in the Cup of Excellence (COE) in 2023, 6th place in the COE in 2021, 1st place in 2020, 1st and 5th place in 2018, as well as 3rd and 13th place in 2017.... he is no stranger to producing exceptional coffees
