Expect a comforting and balanced cup with a smooth, rounded sweetness—an honest expression of Coatepec's land and labor.
In Coatepec, coffee isn’t just a crop - it’s a way of life, woven into the land and passed down through generations. Nestled in the lush mountains of Veracruz, Coatepec is known as the orchid capital of Mexico and holds a deep tradition of agriculture and craftsmanship.
Grown on small farms averaging just 2–3 hectares, this coffee comes from a network of dedicated producers who care for their land with organic methods and an eye toward sustainability. Shade-grown under native trees like banana and encino, the coffee is hand-harvested with the help of family members, then transported in cherry to a central mill in Coatepec for a careful 48-hour fermentation and slow mechanical drying.
The result is a washed coffee that speaks to the region’s unique terroir - fertile volcanic soil, cool mountain air, and centuries of agricultural heritage. The name “Coatepec,” derived from the Nahuatl words for “hill of serpents,” reflects the area's rich natural abundance and the resilience of its people.
