El Paraiso is a washed lot from Huehuetenango. It’s a light to medium roast and offers a very clean cup. The most prominent flavor we get is panela, think caramel or even butterscotch. It finishes with a great sweetness and notes of dried fruit which remind us of golden raisins.

While in Guatemala in 2019, we met Urisar at a Producer Roaster Forum in Guatemala City. We shared lunch at Pollo Campero and he told us about his farm in Huehuetenango and the coffees he grows there. That next harvest, we agreed to buy some of Urisar’s coffee. Turns out, Urisar is a humble man, the coffee was fantastic and we’ve been coming back each harvest buying more of it

In March of 2022 we had the privilege of travelling to “Huehue” and meeting with Urisar at his farm. Just a couple miles south of Chiapas, Mexico, Urisar’s small farm is deep in the Cuchumatanes mountains in the Huehuetenango department. We had an incredible time thanks to Urisars hospitality and strengthened our relationship that we look forward to growing in the years to come. 

This is now the 3rd year we have been able to bring in Urisar's coffee!
